Permanent residents
Permanent residents are people who have been granted permanent resident status in Canada. Application for permanent residence is through a number of different pathways and categories.



Resettled refugees are those who arrive in Canada as part of the Refugee and Humanitarian Resettlement Program of the Government of Canada.



Transitions
Transitions describe those individuals who have had temporary resident status in Canada prior to becoming a permanent resident.



Temporary residents

A temporary resident is a foreign national who is legally authorized to enter Canada for temporary purposes. While there are several different temporary resident categories you can find dashboards on the following:

Temporary workers in the following categories: the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) and the International Mobility Program (IMP). A sub-category of the IMP Program also included is the Post Graduate Work Permit Program which grants temporary worker rights upon successful completion of a Canadian designated learning institute credential.
